The Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation Department invites adventurous kids ages 8-12 years to take part in unique spring break camp experiences at Ushers Ferry Historic Village. Zombie Survival Camp is Monday-Thursday, March 17-20 or Monday-Thursday, March 24-27 from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Participants will build a shelter, live off the land, find their way in the wilderness and assemble the necessary tools to survive any situation. Campers’ survival skills will be tested on the last day with a tactical game of Humans vs. Zombies. The fee is $78 for Cedar Rapids residents and $86 for non-residents and includes a T-shirt.
Spring Break Day Camp Sampler is also being offered at Ushers Ferry for those who don’t know which camp to choose for the summer. Participants (ages 8-12) may come for all four days trying a different camp each day or they may choose just the camps they want to attend, Monday-Thursday, March 17-20 or March 24-27. The first day is Huckleberry Finn, the second is Prairie Girl Primer, the third is 19th Century Explorers and the final day is Native Tech. The fee per day is $18 for Cedar Rapids residents and $22 for non-residents.
Pr-registration is required for these camps. Call (319) 286-5731 or go to www.crrec.org for more information or to register.
