At the Alternative Gift Market held at Echo Hill Presbyterian Church on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 9 to 2, you’ll be able to buy gifts of hope to those in need while honoring the people on your gift list.
Alternative Gifts International is a non-profit corporation that screens its projects to assure donors that the gifts they give will indeed help the people in need and not go to excessive administrative costs. All gifts are tax-deductible. They give hope in the form of medical supplies, trees for reforestation, or micro-loans for those lifting themselves out of poverty. Local non-profits represented will be such agencies as Helping Hands Ministry, Catherine McAuley Center, Linn Community Food Bank, His Hands Free Medical Clinic, Matthew 25, and many more.
Come and see for yourself. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m., and there is plenty of parking. Echo Hill Church is located at 9000 C Ave.–north of Robbins Road and St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.
